Santa Rosa City Schools welcomes two new administrators
The Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Education appointed a new Associate Superintendent of Educational Services and the next Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources at the June 23, 2021 board meeting.
Dr. Kimberlee Armstrong is the new Associate Superintendent of Educational Services. She will oversee a newly combined department that includes teaching and learning, special education, and student and family services. With over 16 years of experience in education, Dr. Armstrong has served students and families as a classroom teacher, site administrator, and district level leader over the course of her career. She is currently an Assistant Superintendent in the Tamalpais Union High School District, and will start with Santa Rosa City Schools on July 1, 2021. Dr. Armstrong brings a student-centered approach and perspective on equitable instructional practices, social justice, and inclusion that serves all students.
Michael Shepherd will be the next Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, beginning July 1, when the current assistant superintendent, Anna Trunnell, becomes the district’s superintendent. Mr. Shepherd is currently a Director of Human Resources with the Folsom Cordova Unified School District, serving in this role for the past eight years. Starting his career in education more than 24 year ago, Mr. Shepherd has been a classroom teacher, site administrator, and district administrator. His background as an educator and a leader in human resources offers a well rounded skill set to provide strong support and leadership in our district.
