A graduate of Santa Rosa City Schools; attended Lawrence Cook Middle School and Elsie Allen High School. BS in Public Health and Biology, Dominican University of California; MS in Health Policy and Law, University of California, San Francisco.

Employment: Executive Director of Latino Service Providers. Bilingual Crisis Counselor and Advocate for trauma-affected populations in Sonoma County. Previously worked for the California HOPE Project, the Family Justice Center of Sonoma County, and Verity- Sonoma County's Rape, Crisis, and Trauma Center. Currently serves as President of the Elsie Allen High School Music Boosters Club.

Special Interests: Health policy, ethnic studies, education equity, closing the achievement gap, English Language Learner curriculum, A-G standards.

A graduate of Santa Rosa City Schools; attended Lawrence Cook Junior High and Elsie Allen High Schools. Received A.S. in Liberal Studies from Santa Rosa Junior College before transferring to Sonoma State University, where he studied History as well as Chicanx and Latinx Studies.

Special Interests: Ethnic Studies, STEM, Technology, state and federal legislative affairs, increasing parent engagement, and increasing number of bilingual and bicultural educators.

Resident of Sonoma County since 1992, and in Santa Rosa for the last 20+ years. Born and raised in El Salvador, Ever immigrated as a teenager to San Francisco, where he graduated from Mission High School. BA in Latin American Literature, and Master’s Degree in Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential both from Sonoma State University.

Employment: Healdsburg Unified School District, School Counselor at Healdsburg High School, and Migrant Education, SRJC Adelante summer program director.

Ever began his career in public education in 1996 as a classified worker serving migrant students at Santa Rosa Junior College. In 2000 began a career with Healdsburg Unified School District as a professional elementary school counselor. He later transitioned to a counseling position to Healdsburg Jr. High and in 2008 assumed his current position as counselor at Healdsburg High School. In these roles, Ever has served hundreds of students and families at all educational levels. In 2017 and 2020 Ever was recognized by the California Association of Future Farmers of America as the California State Star Counselor.

Special Interests: Making Santa Rosa City Schools a destination district for our region’s most qualified educators and classified staff; prioritizing the classroom in every decision we make; real equity to ensure the success of every Santa Rosa student; ethnic studies; dual immersion language programs; agricultural program; and education in the visual and performing arts.

A graduate of Santa Rosa City Schools; attended 14 different schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade and graduated from Piner High School.

Volunteerism: 31 years of advocating and coaching for youth academics, social wellness, and athletics. Volunteered with Students Must All Relate Together, Teens Teaching Through Theatre, Sequoia Parents Club, Rincon Valley Charter School Parent Association, Maria Carrillo Puma Athletic Booster Club, Maria Carrillo Project Graduation, and the SRCS Safety Advisory Round Table Committee.

Coaching experience: Rincon Valley Soccer Club, Santa Rosa Girls Softball, Rincon Valley Little League, Santa Rosa Lacrosse Club, Empire Soccer, and Maria Carrillo Track & Field.

Employment: 16 years law office management civil litigation firm, 1998-2014. Owner operator De La Torre Detail Mobile Auto Detailing, 2014-present.

Special interests: community building, strengthening, and growth throughout the district. Campus safety, building environments that make students feel safe, included, heard, and encouraged to grow. Encouraging space for teachers to feel safe, valued, respected, and trusted to enrich their students. Ensuring accountability is held for everyone at the table. Increase and strengthen parent engagement to help educators build sustainable, sturdy foundations for children to grow with an encouraging team supporting them.

Julie Bui

Student Board Member

Born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. Attended Albert F. Biella Elementary, Piner-Olivet Charter School, and am currently a senior at Piner High School.

Special Interests: Basketball, extracurricular activities (President of the California Scholarship Federation Club at Piner), a passionate STEM fanatic (Piner STEM Prospect as a Junior), and advocate for lifelong learning.

Future Plans: Attend a four-year university! Major is undecided.
