Meet the Athletic Trainers

Melissa Gueretta

Montgomery High
Certified Athletic Trainer

Montgomery High School is lucky to have Melissa Gueretta as our full time certified athletic trainer since 2014. Melissa can be seen standing on the sidelines of home games and rotating around practices. In addition, she keeps a watchful eye and provides immediate help for all of our athletes. Melissa provides services that include injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion, examination and clinical diagnosis, and rehabilitation of injuries. Melissa is also in charge of the pre-season ImPACT concussion testing program. When she is not out at games or practices, you can find her in her office located on the backside of the South Gym. Melissa was born and raised in Sonoma County. She has her master’s degree in sports psychology from CSU, Fresno and her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from CSU, Sacramento. When Melissa is not working, she is traveling the world, adding new stamps to her passport.

Mercedes Zipperle

Santa Rosa High
Certified Athletic Trainer

Mercedes Zipperle is a board certified athletic trainer who graduated from CSU Fresno with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Animal Science. As part of her education she worked with athletics at Fresno State and several high schools in the Valley. You can find her at Santa Rosa High, in the Athletic Training Room located in South Gym next to the weight room. In her free time she enjoys being outside, whether it is hiking, running, or riding her horse, Star.
