Through a program that spans all grade levels, SRCS graduates college and career ready students with a deep understanding of mathematical practices such as reasoning and explaining. Our approach to math is based on integrating concepts, thus encouraging students to solve problems using all of their math knowledge and skills rather than focusing on compartmentalized topics.

KA-5, Everyday Mathematics takes a spiral approach to introducing and re-visiting concepts in order to reach mastery of standards, with an emphasis on games as a method to build fluency in mathematics.

Grades 6-8 use College Preparatory Mathematics (CPM) to support the CCSS. Much like the elementary program, concepts spiral and build upon each other.

In high school, the integrated approach continually builds upon KA-8 knowledge to reinforce skills and concepts while providing increased complexity in the domains of algebra, geometry and statistics. Successful completion of Integrated Math 1-3 enables students to access Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate and college level courses, and prepares students for competitive entry into STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) and/or career pathways.

SRCS Math Pathways

SRCS math courses are aligned to the California Common Core State Standards for Mathematics that are based on three principles: focus, coherence, and rigor.
