Education:

Educated through Rohnert Park public schools k-12, BA in Soc/Anthro with a minor in Philosophy from Gustavus Adolphus College in MN; Masters of Education in curriculum and instruction with a focus on the environment from Concordia University.

Employment:
County of Sonoma, Behavioral health department connecting individuals to services they need. Prior work includes educational outreach through the Schulz Museum teaching cartooning at schools an organization throughout the greater bay area, and several years at Safari West. Before being a parent, Sarah worked mostly with youth in the mental health system of care- residentially (including a Deaf and hard of hearing program), non public school, foster care, locked facility, day program, etc.

Special interests:
Sarah is a Mom first to her amazing teenagers. Animal lover next. Dream career would be to work with struggling teens to teach them
how to train service dogs. A win win for all! Passionate about community involvement and advocating for and alongside youth. Active participant in the Safety Advisory Round Table, the SRPD’s Chief’s Community Advisory Team, Behavioral Health’s Trauma Informed Leadership Team, and the Safe Campus Alliance.

Main focuses:
School Safety, Academic Excellence, CTE (Career and Technical Education), and Multilingual Education
