What is Peachjar?

Peachjar sends approved flyers directly to parents’ email inboxes, and posts them online on all school websites and on the school pages right here on the district's website. With Peachjar, parents can easily find and view flyers, and take action immediately to sign up for activities and events. All flyers may be accessed by clicking on the Peachjar button.

What are the benefits to using digital flyers?

• keeps parents informed about school activities and community events/resources, and allows them to register, sign up immediately
• saves trees by reducing the amount of paper printed
• reduces copy costs by thousands of dollars
• removes the administrative burden from teachers, office staff, and volunteers of making copies and stuffing backpacks

Do you need to login to see flyers for your school?

You do not need to log in to receive or view school digital flyers. If you have given your school an email address, you will receive a welcome email from Peachjar that includes a username and password. This is provided only to give you the opportunity to manage your account and flyer delivery preferences. If you don't set up preferences, you'll receive flyers when they are sent out. When you receive your first Peachjar flyer, be sure to click “always display images.”

Will Peachjar share your email information?

Peachjar will not share your email information. This system is used exclusively for distribution of school-approved flyers. Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose. There is also a button to unsubscribe from Peachjar emails. Keep in mind, if you unsubscribe, you may miss out on important information about school events and opportunities for your child. Many local school districts have discovered that the old practice of sending paper flyers home in student backpacks is not as effective in today’s digital world. Beginning in August 2018, Santa Rosa City Schools will be sending digital flyers directly to parents through Peachjar. Paper flyers will no longer be distributed.

Peachjar provides an innovative flyer management system that sends approved flyers directly to parents’ email inbox, and posts them online on all school websites and on each school's page here on the district website. Some benefits of using digital flyers:

• With Peachjar, parents can easily find and view flyers
• Flyers have buttons that allow parents to take action immediately, to sign up for activities and events
• Program providers (community groups) can track their flyer's open rate, etc.
• Flyers meet the needs of our community, as they are required to be in English and Spanish
• Peachjar makes sure that the flyers are ADA accessible

Get started by registering with Peachjar

If you are a community group or organization that wants to distribute flyers to families in some or all of our SRCS schools, start by visiting www.peachjar.com and register an account as a “Program Provider."

How much does it cost?

Peachjar does charge a fee to Program Providers (also known as community partners, local businesses and organizations), but it is significantly less than the cost of printing thousands of flyers. If there is a cost for the service or activity being posted (for example, a camp that charges a fee to participate), Peachjar will charge the business posting the flyer $25 for each school that receives the flyer. There are also options to purchase bulk rate packages.

Are any flyers posted for free?

Program Providers posting flyers promoting free programs or events (for example, a library story hour or canned food drive, with no cost involved) can post their flyer for free, but will be limited to one free posting every 30 days. Can I send flyers to teachers only?

Yes, you can send flyers to teachers only. The same guidelines apply; however, flyers to teachers do not have to be in Spanish. If you are promoting a service or event that costs money, there is a cost to post the flyers to teachers only.

Upload your own flyer or create a flyer with one of Peachjar's templates

To upload your flyer for distribution to your desired schools within SRCS, login to your account at www.peachjar.com.
Peachjar provides step-by-step instructions on How to Upload a Digital Flyer. All flyers must be:
 

• submitted in English and Spanish in the same document
• up to four pages long
• in PDF, vertical format
• ADA accessible (able to be accessed by people with disabilities who use tools such as screen readers); scanned flyers are not accessible. Peachjar's upload process will create the "alt text" required when the flyer is uploaded.

What happens after I upload my flyer?

Every flyer from a Program Provider (community group outisde of our schools) requires staff approval before it can be posted by Peachjar. SRCS staff will review the flyer and approve or deny the request based on District flyer requirements. This process could take several days, so give yourself as much time as possible to get a flyer approved before any events. You will be notified when the flyer needs any changes, and when it's approved.

Our schools will no longer distribute paper flyers to students.

• Flyers will be sent directly to parents’ email inboxes, as well as posted on school websites, for easy access.
• All flyers may also be accessed by clicking on the School Flyers page on this website.
• Each year, our schools will save tons of paper and reduce copy costs by thousands of dollars. In addition, paperless delivery of school flyers removes a significant administrative burden from teachers, office staff, and volunteers.

There is no cost to schools or school groups (parent organizations, school clubs, etc.) to post a flyer.

Please note: Schools cannot use their own Peachjar accounts to send out flyers for outside organizations. Outside organizations must create their own Peachjar accounts and upload their own flyers for district approval. Refer them to the Info for Community Groups page.

How to Upload a Digital Flyer

Here are the basic steps to creating a flyer:

1. You will need to request uploading priviledges from your school administrator or give your flyer to the person at your school who has uploading priviledges

We are all new to this system in 2018-19, so please be patient as each school establishes who will have flyer priviledges.

Once everything is up and running at your school, your school's Peachjar Site Administrator (your school secretary can tell you who that is) can upload flyers to the school's Peachjar account. You might be asked to send your flyers to the Site Admin for uploading. The Site Admin is also in charge of assigning uploading privileges to others. Please contact that individual if you would like to request uploading privileges. Once uploading privileges are assigned to you, an auto-generated email is sent to you with your username and password.

2. Go to Peachjar’s homepage at www.peachjar.com. Click ‘login’ and enter your username and password. 

Click on ‘My Account’ in the top right-hand corner. Under the ‘My Flyers’ heading on the left, click ‘Send a Flyer.' If you would like detailed, step-by-step instructions, read How to Upload a Digital Flyer

3. Choose your categories, select your school and duration... then it's time to Upload your Flyer

Make sure your flyer (document) is:

• in English and in Spanish
• vertical format
• less than 6 MB
• four pages or less

4. Make sure your flyer can be accessed by people with disabilities (ADA accessible)

Once uploaded, the text from your flyer will be copied into a description box for ADA purposes. Please review this text to ensure it matches what is on the flyer. If your flyer contains font in size 12pt or smaller, or if it is a scanned document, the software may not pick up the text. If this is the case, you can click into the box and manually add it. Our flyers must legally be accessible to people with disabilities. See Peachjar information on ADA compliance

5. Select "calls to action"

Peachjar doesn't use embeded hyperlinks, so put any info that you would like the reader to click on in the "call to action" buttons provided when you are uploading your flyer. If there is a website associated with your flyer, enter the URL into the “Learn More” field. If you would like to add another call-to-action in addition to Learn More, you can include “Sign Up Now”, “Call Now” or “Download App”.

6. Submit your flyer

If you would like to send another flyer click ‘Add Another Flyer’. If you are finished, click ‘Submit Order’. you will go through a check out process, but there is no charge for flyers for schools and parent clubs. Your flyer will be sent out in the next cycle, typically the next day.
