Return to School 2020-21

  • August 17 school starts

  • We are looking forward to welcoming our students back for the 2020-21 school year in the safest way possible during the COVID-19 pandemic, which at this time means remote learning.

Parents will pick an option for their student by filling out a form in Illuminate Education (sent on July 22). Parents who have not been able to access their Illuminate Education Parent Portal should contact their school. School phone numbers are available on the Our Schools web page.

What are the remote learning options?

Families of students who want to be a part of the new Learning House remote learning option confirmed their choice by August 3, in order to plan and arrange teacher staffing.

All other families have until Friday, August 7 at 5pm to decide between Distance Learning through December or Distance Learning/Hybrid, with the option to possibly return to schools 2-days a week in October, if it’s safe to do so.

If you don’t choose, your student will be placed in the Distance Learning/Hybrid option.

Return to school plan

On July 22, 2020 the Board of Education approved the Return to School Plan. This plan is the work of more than 220 people, including staff, students, and parents, who served on committees for several weeks in May and June. The committees made recommendations on the safe return to learning in the 2020-21 school year during the COVID-19 pandemic, under guidance from government, education and health officials.
