Dr. Thomas brings over 25 years of educational leadership serving diverse communities.
She is an experienced educational leader with a deep commitment to equity and academic excellence. Dr. Thomas brings a wealth of experience, currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Continuous Improvement for the Oakland Unified School District. In this role, Dr. Thomas leads districtwide strategy for school improvement and supervises 17 schools in Oakland Unified.

Her genuine, collaborative approach to leadership makes her the ideal partner to guide our district," said Nick Caston, Board President. "Dr. Thomas understands the importance of empowering our teachers, parents, and staff to work collectively to elevate student outcomes."
Throughout her career, she has consistently championed community-led school improvement, notably as the founding principal of Greenleaf TK-8, where her leadership led to significant academic gains and a California Title I Academic Achievement Award.
"I am honored to serve the Santa Rosa City Schools community," said Dr. Thomas. "My leadership is rooted in the belief that when we cultivate strong partnerships between educators, families, and administrators, we create the conditions for every student to thrive. I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside all of you to build upon the district's successes."
