Safety Advisory Round Table
The Safety Advisory Round Table (SART) consists of representatives from students, parents, community members, teachers, site administration, and district administration to create the Your Voice, Our Commitment Strategic Action Plan based on your voices and feedback data with a commitment to the four pillars that have been identified as top priorities.

Mental Health & Counseling Strategic Goals
- Improved application/comfort/effectiveness of restorative practices in order to encourage teachers to trust these practices.
- Improved school culture with prioritized initiatives for increased social-emotional wellness, staff training/professional development, positive connections, and community; Proactivity
Safety & Security Strategic Goals
- More trained adults on campuses knowledgeable in response to safety and student needs and security on campus; Free up the administration to do more of their admin duties
- Strengthening restorative practices and developing a wellness center model; Making the current restorative program more efficient and proactive and our practice district-wide at sites and district office
- Provide comprehensive and consistent training for all staff in (including substitutes): Crisis management, disaster response, de-escalation techniques, medical emergencies, behavior emergencies, Aeries documentation, communication strategies, restorative questioning, building positive and proactive relationships, academic engagement, effective collaboration and teamwork strategies, mental health and social-emotional first aid
- Comprehensive review and update to all site safety plans; Review the site and district behavioral expectations and response to discipline
- Provide adequate resources for each site.
● Radios, emergency equipment, carts
● Adequate substitutes in both SRTA and CSEA
● Adequate PA systems in outdoor areas
● Increased cameras and decreased blindspots
● Increased lighting - Provide increased alternative educational opportunities to re-engage students who are either 1) not academically or behaviorally successful, or 2) need additional supports (ie summer school, after school programs)
Facilities Strategic Goals
- Facilities that provide safe and secure environments to best support teaching and learning (Tied to Board Strategic Priorities: Priority #2 - General health (mental, emotional, physical) Priority #4 - Safe and clean schools)
Communication & Transparency Strategic Goals
- Student-Driven communication integrated among campuses/student advisory team
- Community building at each school level (i.e., middle school to high school get togethers)
- Tiered level of threats including what to do with them
- “Student Square” pushing text messages when doing drills
- Cohesive, unified, collective crisis response
- Share what happens afterward when events occur
