For English Learners
Imagine trying to learn a new language while also trying to keep up academically with students who already know the language. That’s the position our English Language Learners (ELLs) are in.
In all of our schools, educators got together in 2018 to make sure that English Language Development (ELD) for our ELLs is an important part of our changing curriculum under the new California State Standards. This work is part of the district’s new English Learner Master Plan, developed by educators, parents, and community members, and approved by the school board in August 2017. Parents who would like more information can contact their school principal or SOLL (Supporting Our Language Learners) Counselor. To find school phone numbers, look at the list of our schools.
