The Mike Hauser Academy is a three-week summer program, sponsored by the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber and Santa Rosa City Schools, for students who are entering the 9th grade in 2019-20. It is an opportunity for students to use part of the summer before 9th grade to visit local companies, interact with engineers and professionals, and explore how they use science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as part of their job. This three-week program will empower and inspire students with demonstrations, hands-on activities and direct learning experiences that show practical applications for STEM concepts.
The Academy is open to all students who are currently in 8th grade. It welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and academic levels, English Language Learners, and students who could benefit from extra math and science support.
- Students who successfully complete the Academy will earn 5 elective credits for high school.
- The Academy is offered to students at no cost.
- Lunch and transportation will be provided each day.
Dates: June 10 - 28, 2019 (Monday - Thursday), with graduation at SSU on Friday, June 28, 2019
