    Due to orders from the Governor and Sonoma County Health Officer to shelter in place and use social distancing, this summer program has been canceled.

     

    The Mike Hauser Academy is a summer enrichment program designed to motivate students as they enter high school and begin making important course decisions. The Academy is devoted to strengthening math/science skills in addition to inspiring students to pursue higher education and careers in the fields of STEM by exposing them to different work environments and engaging them in interactive learning guided by teachers, engineers, and technical experts.

    The Academy is open to all students who are currently in eighth grade. The Academy welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and academic levels, English Language Learners and students who could benefit from extra math and science support.

    Students visit various companies to learn how science, technology, engineering and math concepts are used in daily operations and complete projects related to activities at each workplace. Business hosts include Keysight Technologies, Viavi Solutions, Medtronic, Summit Engineering, North Coast Builders Exchange, Sonoma Water Agency and more.

    • Students who successfully complete the Academy will earn 5 elective credits for high school.​
    • The Academy is offered to students at no cost.
    • Lunch and transportation will be provided each day.

    Dates: June 8-26, 2020 (Monday - Thursday), with graduation at SSU on Friday, June 26, 2020
