Touch of Japan
Students will make taiko drums and drumsticks (bachi), have an introduction to basic taiko drumming, learn origami, make a traditional Japanese snack and cook other Asian food.
Students will work in groups to design and build various engineering projects.
Sample projects will include bridge building, mousetrap racecars, space lander design, mission to Mars, earthquake resistant building.
The culminating project will be an open-ended engineering design created by the students in their groups. A lot of hands-on fun and challenging activities planned.
Students will be exploring several different art mediums and techniques, including graphite, tie dye, watercolor, colored pencil, paper mache and more. Students will create several art pieces during class and will have a portfolio of work to take home. All skill levels are welcome.
Project Make is open to students who were in 4th - 7th grade during the 2021-22 school year. Students in this program will become a "maker" of practical, imaginative, and creative hands-on projects. Students learn how to create things like rockets, films, marble runs, and much more! Students will get to participate in up to two courses.

Project Make está abierto a estudiantes que han estado en los grados 4 a 7 durante el año escolar 2021-22.
